Joaquin is a second-year Ph.D. student in Education at Harvard University, specializing in the economics of education. He brings extensive policy and research experience, having worked on initiatives to reduce dropout rates, expand public education, examine parental expectations, and address the educational needs of migrant populations (among many others). Before beginning his doctoral studies, Joaquin served as a Senior Policy Analyst and Education Data Specialist at Chile’s Ministry of Education and consulted for UNESCO and the World Bank. He also spent two years teaching mathematics in low-income schools through Enseña Chile (Teach For All partner).
