Jostin Kitmang is a third-year PhD student in Education Policy and Program with extensive academic and policymaking experience. His research examines how higher-education policies, including public universities and financial-aid interventions, and complementary supports such as career counseling, stipends for living expenses, and simplifying application processes can improve college access, persistence, and the transition to the labor market. Before Harvard, Jostin served as a research manager at J-PAL LAC and as an economic consultant at the National Scholarship Program, where he led the design and evaluation of several education projects in the Dominican Republic and Peru. He also served as an economic advisor to senior Peruvian government officials at the Ministry of Education, and as an economic consultant for the World Bank and the International Labour Organization. He holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad de Piura in Peru. These roles have equipped him with tools to lead research projects in collaboration with the governments in LAC.
