Thiago Alves is an adjunct professor of Public Administration at Federal University of Goias. He teaches Education Finance, Public Policy and Educational Data Analysis courses on undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs. He also does Masters Research and PhD student supervision. His research area is Educational Policy with focus on education finance (school funding) and teacher work conditions. Developed research and consultancy projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education and city halls.

He is the co-founder and coordinator of the Educational Data Laboratory (research group). The Lab conducts research and training in educational policy and management to ensure free, secular, and quality public education for all. It develops computational solutions that organize, process, provide, and analyze educational data and indicators to support public managers in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating public policies.
