Karina Gómez is a doctoral student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s in Applied Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), as well as a Master’s in Analysis and Policy in Economics from the Paris School of Economics (PSE). Before joining HGSE, Karina worked as a research assistant on impact evaluations of a range of education initiatives focused on school management, vocational education, student mental health, and teacher incentives. Through her research, she is interested in exploring and designing interventions to improve the composition of the teacher workforce. She also aims to develop evidence-based interventions through which education systems can enhance children’s well‑being beyond academics once basic enrollment goals are met.
