Our guest speaker was Alejandro Ganimian, Visiting Associate Professor of Education at HGSE, who will also be teaching the course Economics of Education in Low- and Middle-Income Countries this coming spring.
Prof. Ganimian is an Associate Professor of Applied Psychology and Economics at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. He has conducted extensive research in Latin America. He holds a doctorate in Quantitative Policy Analysis in Education from Harvard, where he was a fellow in the Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality and Social Policy, and a master’s in Educational Research from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar. He has consulted for multiple international organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and Innovations for Poverty Action.
